How Our Pieces Are Made

Behind every Hey Rosie piece is a network of people who genuinely love what they do. We didn't build this overnight — it took years of collaboration, trust, and a shared belief that clothing is worth making properly.
Our Manufacturing Partners
We make our pieces across Europe, working with a carefully chosen group of manufacturers in Italy, Spain, Poland, Türkiye, and our own studio in Germany. Every single one of them was chosen for the same reasons: craft, integrity, and a passion for quality that matches ours.
Many of our partners are family businesses that have been running for multiple generations. They carry decades — sometimes centuries — of accumulated knowledge in their hands, their machines, and their ways of working. This is not something you can replicate overnight, and it's not something we take for granted.
Italy holds a special place for us. Italian craft is in a league of its own — the attention to detail, the pride in the finished piece, the refusal to cut corners. Our Italian partners embody everything we believe great clothing should be, and working with them has shaped how we think about making things.
Our partners in Spain, Poland, and Türkiye bring their own deep traditions and expertise to the table. Türkiye in particular has a long and respected textile heritage that often surprises people — it shouldn't. The skill and standards we find there are exceptional.
Every partner, without exception, signs our Supplier Code of Conduct — covering fair labour practices, animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and full transparency throughout the supply chain. This is not a formality. It is the foundation of every relationship we build.
Our Own Studio — Baesweiler, Germany
One of the things we're most proud of is having our own studio. Based in Baesweiler, Germany, it's where ideas become real — where we prototype, test, and produce small runs of pieces before they go anywhere near a larger production run.
Having this space gives us something rare in fashion: agility. We can move fast, experiment freely, and stay genuinely close to the making. It keeps us honest, curious, and excited about what comes next.
How We Design & Produce
Every piece starts digitally. We use 3D design tools to develop fit, proportions, and color before we ever touch a physical material — reducing unnecessary samples and giving us the freedom to get things right before committing resources. It's one of the most practical sustainability decisions we make, and it also makes us better designers.
From there, patterns are refined, materials are sourced, and production begins in small, considered batches. We make what people love — not what we hope they might buy. This keeps waste low and quality high, and it means every piece we produce has a real reason to exist.
Responsibility Along the Way
We are not a perfect brand — we don't claim to be. But we are a deliberate one. Every material choice, every partner relationship, every production decision is made with care for the people involved and the world we're making things in.
We prefer certified materials — RMS, RWS, OEKO-TEX — and we're building towards using them across everything we make. We choose organic cotton for our cut & sew pieces and work with deadstock fabrics to give leftover materials a second life. We ship in minimal, recycled packaging because the responsibility doesn't end when the piece leaves our hands.
We ask a lot of our partners. And they ask a lot of us. That mutual respect is what makes the work worth doing.
